When one chooses teaching as a profession, one does it knowing that free time will be a myth. However, once in awhile we manage to sneak 10-15 minutes and at times and hour or two. In that "free time" there are many things that I enjoy doing.
My biggest hobby is reading. You cannot get far without reading regularly. I have been "accused" of writing scientific papers as if I was writing a novel. Makes sense to me... most of my vocabulary and development of the English language came from reading novels... hence I am wordy. Those of you that may had fallen into this page whose future holds an standardized test (SAT, GRE, LSAT, CBEST, MCAT, PCAT, etc.) and you are not reading... your verbal score will suffer.
With limited time to let the mind wander I have recently started working on gardening. I think everyone should try gardening at least once. I am glad to say that my garden is doing pretty good... Tomatoes are growing... cilantro started to flower... the peppers (the sweet Banana ones were the first to come out). The rosemary, sage, avocado, grapes, blueberry, blackberry are doing wonderful... so are my two rose bushes and the two Dogwoods). Hoping to get some watermelons, cantaloupes, beans, and more spices going.
