Our research programs have three focus areas that we are interested in examining:
1. the preparation and characterization of organic molecules for the concentration and recovery of metal values from waste streams (Separations)
2. the synthesis of organic molecules obtained from natural sources or of a theoretical interest (Organic Synthesis); and
3. an investigation into the removal of iron from acid mine drainage sites (Acid Mine Water).
Within each of these general program areas we have several projects being investigated by undergraduate students at Virginia State University.
