RIMI Small Grant Research Award

RIMI – HBCU-UP Small Grant Research Award

Goal
To enhance Virginia State University’s infrastructure to conduct research in the biomedical related fields.

Duration
The awardees are expected to complete the proposed project within one year, with an option for an one year renewal.  Project objectives and budget will be written to ensure a measurable accomplishment for each year.  To receive funding for an additional year, the Principle Investigator (PI) must submit an interim report at the end of the first year and re-submit a proposal to justify the continuation of the project.  The RIMI Steering Committee evaluates the progress of the first year and makes a recommendation for the continuation/termination of funding for the second year.  The PI may submit only one proposal within each funding year, and can submit a proposal each funding year.  However, the VSU-RIMI Small Grants Program will not provide funding to any PI (or Co-PI) more than two times.
